I offer an emergent curriculum that allows for flexibility, spontaneity,
and in-depth exploration. It is a combination of child-directed and teacher-guided.
This means that teachers set up the environment and  offer provocations to
stimulate the learning process, allowing children to investigate their own interests
and theories while developing the necessary skills for school success.  I document
each child's progress and design activities to support their  learning . Sometimes
these explorations turn into long-term projects where children experience the
research process of questioning, hypothesizing, testing theories, learning from
experts (ie: parents, community members, books), and exploring ideas through
symbolic languages.   Through these  experiences, children learn a variety of concepts
and skills that will stay with them throughout their lives. Not only do they develop
skills in literacy,  writing, art, science, math, geography and biology  but they also develop
the ability to communicate, to collaborate, and to think critically. I believe that children
have the right to an educational program that values and nurtures every individuals
strength while encouraging development of weaker areas.

Your child will be treated with a high level of respect. We do not us
e punitive
discipline. If a child is having difficulty , we practice skills to learn healthy ways to
express ang
er and frustration.
Kindness and compassion are considered bench marks for our daily behavior.
